Call for applications: Hip hop boot camp Uganda
Bayimba Foundation is calling on Ugandan hip hop artists to apply for the 2018 Hip Hop Boot Camp training programme.
The two-week residential training is intended for emerging rappers and will run in Mukono, Uganda, from 18 to 30 June 2018
Founded in 2011, the programme seeks to equip 15 youthful rappers with music industry skills and focuses on songwriting, live performance and studio preparations, rap cypher, financial literacy, profile writing, the impact of the Internet and social media, the visual aspect of music, and personal development.
A ten-track audio album will be released three weeks after the training comes to a close.
The deadline for applications is 25 May 2018 and female hip hop artists are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be aged between 15 and 25 years old.
- Applicants must prove that they are already staging performances in their communities by submitting stage performance videos.
Requirements
- A personal profile that should not exceed 800 words.
- A motivational letter that should not exceed 500 words.
- A sample of an audio recording or two a capella verses.
- Two recent photographs.
- For participants under 20 years old, a parent’s permission letter must be provided.
Kindly note that the Bayimba Foundation will only cater for transport, food and accommodation.
