Call for applications: Indian Ocean Music Market 2019
The Indian Ocean Music Market (IOMMA) is calling on artists and delegates to apply for its eighth edition. The event will take place on Reunion Island from 3 to 6 June 2019. The organisers are yet to announce the host city.
Applications are open to African artists from the following countries: Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, eSwatini, Tanzania, Somalia and Uganda. Artists from countries such as Australia, Bangladesh, China, Comoros, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand can also apply.
Band and artist applications are done via the IOMMA official website.
Delegates who wish to attend the event should apply here. The deadline for all applications is 30 November.
Artists/bands will need to provide the following information:
- Name(s).
- Genre.
- Country of residency.
- The number of musicians, full names and instruments played by each member.
- The number of technicians, full name and function for each of them.
Contact information
- Name of the referring structure.
- Full name and function of the main contact.
- E-mail address.
- Telephone number.
Artists/bands requirements
- At least one link to your website. Facebook and Twitter pages are also welcome.
- Make sure to provide full URL links (eg: http://www.mypage.com).
- One high res picture (.jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .png format, 5MB max).
- One biography (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .txt or .rtf format, 2MB max).
- One technical rider (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .txt or .rtf format, 2MB max).
- Three audio links, preferably on Bandcamp, SoundCloud or MixCloud platforms.
- Three video links, preferably on YouTube, Vimeo or DailyMotion platforms. Live session mandatory (performance or rehearsal) for two videos at least. No covers allowed.

“Your application can only be sent if you have completed the form rigorously,” the organisers said. “If your application is incomplete or if elements do not meet the mentioned criteria, it may be rejected by the jury.”
