The deadline for applications is 13 October and only successful applicants will be contacted. Interestred artists can apply online.
"The festival is looking for inspired African and international musicians and artists in all creative mediums to Bring Your Fire!" the organisers said.
“As we gear up for the 13th edition, candidates interested in participating can now send in their application to showcase their craft at MTN Bushfire’s eclectic and multi-dimensional programme, which is deeply rooted in music and further features a fascinating line-up of dance, art exhibitions and installations, theatre, poetry, storytelling, puppetry, film, speakers as well as themed workshops."
MTN Bushfire was named as one of the 7 African Music Festivals You Really Have to See by CNN and was featured on BBC's list of Top African Festival.
MTN Bushfire celebrates creative expression while promoting social responsibility through supporting the festival’s mandate that donates a percentage of profits to eSwatini’s orphans through the NGO Young Heroes and 100% merchandise proceeds to non-profit BoMake Rural Projects, a community development project.
Attracting over 30 000 fans from across Africa and other parts of the world, the festival provides an opportunity for both established and developing artists to showcase their work.
“Through our ideals and our actions we continue to explore and redefine the typical festival formula. In doing this we ask questions of ourselves, of artists, and of our audiences: How best do we shape the festival we have created and what do we want to say? What role should the arts play in our society? How do we become practical dreamers? Exploring these questions defines our festival and is the real spirit that people take away,” festival director Jiggs Thorne was quoted as saying last year.
