Call for applications: Music competition in Austria
Academia Musica in Vienna, Austria, is calling on musicians and composers from around the world to participate in the 2019 International Music Competition.
According to the official website, "Academia Musica is supposed to be a liaison between musicians who stand between their education and their professional entry."
Held annually, the competition seeks to reward musicians of all ages in the following categories:
Classical music
- Category of musicians born after 1 January 2006 (maximum of five minutes).
- Category of musicians born after 1 January 2002 (maximum of five minutes).
- Category of musicians born after 1 January 1998 (maximum of seven minutes).
Folks Music
- Category of musicians born after 1 January 2006 (maximum of five minutes).
- Category of musicians born after 1 January 2002 (maximum of five minutes).
- Category of musicians born after 1 January 1998 (maximum of seven minutes).
Composition
Composers can submit works for:
- Solo Instruments (maximum of 10 minutes).
- Chamber music (maximum of six players).

- Biography
- Project description/ scores
Prizes
The overall winning musician will receive €500 (about $560) while the best composer will be rewarded with €250. The three best participants in each category will each receive a medal and diploma certificate.
The application deadline is 10 October 2019 and interested individuals will be expected to pay a €50 registration fee.
