Open call: Workshop on performance rights in African music markets
Registration is currently ongoing for the Music Business Academy (MBA) for Africa’s workshop on the role of performance rights organisations in African Francophone and Anglophone music markets.
Running in partnnership with the Society of Authors, Composers, and Publishers of Music (SACEM), the event is slated for Alliance Francaise, Lagos, Ikoyi, on 11 November.
Orgaisers say the initiative aims to unite key stakeholders within the African music industry to explore the roles of performance rights organisations (PROs).
“The workshop aims to promote discussions on how performance rights organisations can strengthen the African music industry by improving royalty collection systems and supporting the growth of music creators across the continent,” a statement explains.
At the event, attendees will gain valuable insights through expert panel discussions on how performance rights organisations operate in the music industry, as well as an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities within the African market.
