Call for applications: Music scholarship in Zimbabwe

The scholarship is courtesy of Focusrite in the UK and Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe, an institution that provides opportunities and empowers emerging musicians.

The scholarship will provide accommodation, a shared atelier space, full tuition and collaboration opportunities with cultural actors in the region.

Applicants will be immersed in Music Crossroads’ vibrant artistic community engaging in Music Crossroads Academy’s eclectic programme of events, exhibitions and community collaborations.

Individuals planning to submit applications for consideration will need to write a letter directed to the academy with the subject line ‘Focusrite Application’ to the mczimbabwe@music-crossroads.net before 20 January.

In the application, applicants should include their name, email, address, phone number and city/town.

“We welcome artists and individuals from diverse practices and backgrounds,” a statement reads. “Candidates who live further from Harare, and are in dire need of accommodation, are suitable. Female candidates and those who are socio-economically deprived are encouraged to apply. Only individuals who aspire to pursue a one-year certificate in professional music are eligible for this application.”
