Call for applications: Odyssée artist residency in France
Association des Centres culturels de rencontre (ACCR) and the French Ministry of Culture are accepting applications for their joint Odyssée international residency programme in France.
This programme lasts between one and six months, and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Launched in 2003, the programme has supported 700 artists and cultural professionals across various fields, including music, architecture, crafts, visual arts, theatrical writing, photography and journalism. It seeks to support artists, researchers and cultural professionals who do not reside in France but wish to develop projects with French cultural meeting centres.
Requirements
- Applicant's CV.
- Project description.
- Portfolio of works or links to the recording of musical or theatrical pieces, etc.
- Cover letter.
- Letter of recommendation.
- Proof of domiciliation (electricity bill, telephone bill, etc.).
- Photocopy of passport or identity card.
Successful applicants will receive the following:
- A monthly allowance of €1 200 (about $1 450).
- Reimbursement of travel expenses.
- Accommodation and meals.
Note: The proposed projects must be in agreement with the projects of the proposed French centre.
How to apply
Interested artists and cultural professionals should:
- Fill out the online form here.
- Name each uploaded document by name (example: Cover Letter, CV etc.).
- In attaching the requested documents, name them as follows: ‘Type of document_SURNAME_Name’ (example: CV_SMITH_John).
- The documents can also be sent to residences@accr-europe.org, with the subject line ‘Odyssée 2021’, or directly to the cultural centre.
- Online and email applications are strongly encouraged.
Important dates
- Application deadline: 29 May 2021.
- End of June 2021: Odyssée scholarship commission.
- July 2021: Response to applications.
