Open call: Sound Art Residency 2025 programme in Paris
Artists from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas are invited to submit applications for the Sound Art Residency programme in Paris, France.
The call, courtesy of the Jacques Chirac Museum of Branly Quay is open exclusively to artists who come from one of the above four continents represented in the collections of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac.
The jury will give precedence to pieces conceived in connection with the museum’s collections, interests and theme.
The winning project will be chosen in the spring of 2025 by an international jury that will bring together various personalities from the world of sound and audio-visual creation. The museum will pay the winning artist an endowment of €8 000 (about $8 300) and will also finance the production of the sound work, which will be presented to the public and may become part of the museum's collections.
Calendar
- Deadline for submitting applications: 12 January 2025.
- Online presentation of projects by pre-selected winners: April 2025.
- Research and creation period at the museum in Paris and Le Fresnoy in Tourcoing (maximum of 3 weeks in total): September 2025.
- Creation/production/research of rights: October 2025 – February 2026.
- Editing and installation of the work at the Jacques Chirac Museum: 23 February and 5 March 2026.
- End of residency and presentation of the work to the public: Mid-March 2026.
