Call for entries: 2022 chamber music competition in Austria
Young piano, violin and violoncello composers from around the world can submit compositions for the International Chamber Competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music, which will be held in Graz, Austria, from 5 to 14 February 2022.
Now in its 11th edition, this call targets creative and curious musical personalities, full of fantasy, who make music at the highest level and reach, touch and delight their audiences with their performances of chamber music. Entrants can submit in two categories: Duo for Voice and Piano (lied) and Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello (piano trio).
Requirements
- Performance video.
- Passport or ID.
- Repertoire.
Note:
- Composers must be born after 27 February 1981.
- The performance duration of the composition should have a maximum length of 15 minutes.
- The work may neither already have been accepted for a premiere performance, nor been performed in public, nor been awarded a prize, nor been published until the end of the International Competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music in 2022.
Remuneration
Successful entrants are guaranteed the following:
- Prize money of approximately €65 000 (about $75 000).

Application fees and deadlines
Early bird deadline is 31 August:
- Duo: €100.
- Trio: €150.
The final deadline is 12 October:
- Duo: € 140.
- Trio: € 210.
No reimbursement of the application fee.
