Call for entries: MTN Cypher Uganda
MTN Uganda and The Tribe UG, an online hip hop and marketing platform, are calling rappers in Uganda to submit entries for the MTN Cypher contest.
The participant with the highest likes or retweets will receive 1 million Ugandan shillings ($270), while the first and second runners-up will take home 500 000 and 250 000 shillings respectively.
The winners will be announced on 3 February and awarded during the third edition of the UG Hip Hop Awards at the MTN-Tidal Warehouse in Kampala five days later.
To participate, rappers need to:
- Download the MTN Cypher beat here.
- Record a 1-minute video rapping to the beat with a mention of MTN Pulse.
- Post the video to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #MTNCypher.
- Get their friends to like and share the video.
Contestants are advised not to use abusive, obscene or hate language in their submissions.
Note that each cypher submission wiull automatically earn participants a ticket to the UG Hip Hop Awards.
