“As we support the global integration into online and digital spaces for our music, the future of a Zimbabwean sound is in that universe,” ZIMAs executive member Fungai Zvirawa said in a statement. “We strive towards an African renaissance and genuine renewal in the Zimbabwean arts sector and we acknowledge the significance of transformative innovation in our music sector. Despite the known challenges Zimbabwe is facing, it is time to celebrate with the rest of the world and consciously put our sound in the forefront.”
She added: “We are pleased to announce that we have retained PPC Zimbabwe as the title sponsor and this year’s event will be known as the PPCZIMA Awards or #PPCZIMA23, which will also be the hashtag we will be using across all social media platforms.”
