Call for entries: The Voice Nigeria Season 3
UN1TY Media, the company responsible for organising reality musical talent show The Voice Nigeria, is calling for entries for Season 3 of the competition.
The competition aims to unearth new voices who have been residents in the West African country for at least a year. It is open to aspiring solo artists, duos and trios aged 18 to 50. Online auditions for the contest – whose winner will walk away with about $26 000, a brand new car and a Universal Music deal – opened on 25 August. The deadline for submissions is 19 September.
The show will unfold in four stages: a blind audition, followed by the battle rounds, the brand new knockouts, and live performances. Finalists are assigned coaches to guide them through the competition. This year’s coaches include musicians Darey, Falz, Yemi Alade and Waje.
Interested individuals can register via www.thevoicenigeria.com with their FirstBank account number as a requirement. Individuals without FirstBank accounts can join by dialling the bank’s USSD code, *894*0#, to get an account.
FirstBank CEO Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan said the financial institution's support for the competition is a “demonstration of the bank’s commitment to contributing to the projected revenue of $86 million by 2021 from the Nigerian music industry.”
“The Voice Nigeria’s impact is not limited to the music industry, as hundreds of jobs are created in other chains of the industry through direct and indirect employment and other ancillary services involved in the production of the show,” he said.
The Voice Nigeria is produced in collaboration with British broadcaster ITV, Music UK and YouTube. Past winners of the show are A’rese and Idyl.
