Kenyan-Nigerian producer Afamefuna shares news EP i.r.I
US-based Kenyan-Nigerian producer and sound engineer, Afamefuna, has released a new EP titled i.r.I.
- Afamefuna.
The dance and R&B infused record features Kenyan artists Terrianne Iraki, Zowie Kengocha, Zaitumi, Wambui and Stacy Kamatu. It is a fusion of four-on-the-floor beats, lush pads, and catchy bass melodies, all designed to get listeners on the dance floor and let loose.
Each track is a celebration of rhythm, emotion, and storytelling, blending Afamefuna’s signature production style with the unique voices of Kenya’s rising stars.
The Zowie Kengocha-assisted single, ‘top’, was the first release (13 March 2025) ahead of the EP. It features disco-inspired beats and modern R&B sensibilities. The EP builds on this momentum, offering a cohesive and immersive listening experience that explores themes of female empowerment, love, and the many emotions that stem from it, all from a distinctly Kenyan perspective.
i.r.l, which stands for “in real life”, is more than just a musical project, it’s a coming-of-age story for Afamefuna. The title reflects his journey of living life to the fullest, embracing vulnerability, and stepping out of the digital world into real, tangible experiences.
This project represents the musical renaissance happening within the East African R&B and dance music scene.
i.r.l is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms.
