Call for participation: ACCES 2022 workshops in Dar es Salaam
ACCES is calling on musicians, producers, managers and music entrepreneurs interested in professional music production, writing or producing music for moving images, and digital copyright to participate in the ACCES 2022 workshops on 25 and 26 November in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
How to participate
Registration is mandatory and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants can register HERE for the workshops of their choice. Workshops are free-to-attend.
All workshops will be in English and will take place at the ACCES 2022 main conference venue at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre.
The workshop programme will be as follows:
Music production essentials
- Date and time: Friday 25 November – 10am to 5pm.
- Presented in partnership with Ableton.
- With Mr Sakitumi, musician and producer (South Africa).
- Description: This full-day workshop will give both aspiring and established producers the opportunity to gain and update their skills in music composition, beatmaking, arrangement, mixing and remixing with the latest DAWs and music plugins.
Your music in film, TV and other media
- Date and time: Saturday 26 November – 10am to 11.30am.
- Presented in partnership with MediaSoundHamburg.
- With Stephan Eicke, record producer (UK).
- Description: This workshop will go through the fundamentals of music in media, the different approaches for composers to different material, the importance of music-making equipment, as well as the possible contractual and creative pitfalls. The workshop is open to anyone interested in writing or producing music for moving images (film, TV, games, etc.).
Music copyright in the digital age
- Date and time: Saturday 26 November – 11.45am to 12.45pm.
- Presented in partnership with SACEM.
- With Akotchayé Okio, international development officer for Africa, SACEM (France).
- Description: Understanding copyright is essential to becoming a successful player in the music marketplace. This presentation will take creators, artist managers and music entrepreneurs through the laws, business practices and latest trends to help them better navigate the copyright ecosystem while making informed decisions about their products.
