Tanzania: Abigail Chams releases new single Muhibu

The latest offering, which has been dubbed a celebration of love, is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms

The track is a vibrant love anthem that beautifully and meticulously blends taarab, bongo flava, and Kompa while featuring infectious guitar rhythms by Abigail herself.

Known for her versatility in playing multiple instruments – the violin, piano, guitar, and drums –  as well as singing in three languages – Swahili, English, and French – the track is a testament to Abigail’s unique talent and her readiness to rock the global stage!

‘Muhibu’ also showcases Abigail’s powerful vocals, which range from tender intimacy to soaring passion, perfect for all the lovers in the imminent seasonal festivities. The track invites listeners to celebrate love with its upbeat, feel-good vibe, making it a must-have on any romantic playlist.

In a past interview, the artist signed to Sony Music Entertainment Africa said she has loved music since a young age and started learning to play musical instruments when she was five years old. She added that her music is characterised by lively pop melodies and arrangements that allow her to showcase her wide vocal range.

Growing up, she listened to a wide variety of music, especially African artists like Davido, D'Banj, Tiwa Savage, Sauti Sol and 2Baba, among others.
