Call for proposals: 2022 RightsCon summit
Access Now is now accepting proposals for the 2022 RightsCon conference, which will take place from 6 to 10 June 2022.
Now in its 11th edition, the annual event focuses on human rights in the digital age, and has become a central hub for leaders and experts including creatives, journalists, activists, technologists, policymakers and business executives.
The event features hundreds of sessions and thousands of participants, offering a global platform to showcase and share their ideas, create partnerships and find solutions to pressing issues. Topics discussed will include Internet shutdowns and election security, artificial intelligence and biometric surveillance, frontier technology, virtual worlds, and more.
This year’s edition will be formally integrated into two session formats, including private meetings and social hours. Private meetings will feature closed-door and invite-only key stakeholders, who will discuss topics that require a deeper level of trust and security. Social hours, on the other hand, will be hosted in a free-flow networking platform and are aimed at recreating the feel of coffee chats and chance encounters from the in-person summit.
A guide to submitting a successful proposal, which will cover tried-and-tested formats, including panels, workshops, and tech demos, will be issued soon. Applicants scan also expect tailored support, training, and resources to help them produce an effective, participatory session.
