Call for proposals: Musical festivals in Africa and the Middle East

The call for proposals is aimed at musical festivals taking place in Africa and the Middle East in 2019. The organisation will only accept applications from music festivals in the following countries: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Guinea, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tunisia and Jordan.

Interested applicants should submit their applications online, by completing the questionnaire and including all the additional documents requested. The deadline for applications is 30 October.

Requirements

The foundation will accept festivals whose applications meet the following requirements:

• World music, traditional music, jazz, or vocal music repertoires
• Festivals which programme young musicians and singers
• Festivals presenting professional artists or future professionals
• Festivals with a national reach
• Festivals with a community engagement or learning focus
• Festivals which programme at least five concerts
• Festivals which have existed for at least two years
• Festivals may only apply for a maximum of 25% of the total cost of the festival

Today, the Foundation is well-known as a patron within the music industry, particularly for jazz and classical music.”
