About perFORM
perFORM is a music business and artistic development incubator. Founded in 2019, the programme focuses on enabling music industry practitioners to filter, order, refine, and master the artistic and business skills required to build a sustainable music enterprise.
perFORM cohorts comprise passionate individuals across seven disciplines within the music ecosystem: artists, artist managers, publicists, event producers, music producers, sound engineers, and lighting engineers. At its core, the programme focuses on inspiring, empowering, and connecting participating cohorts to upskill, upscale, and commercialise music.
Through its thoughtful intervention, perFORM’s objective is to deliver evidence-backed upskilling, upscaling, and commercialisation of music, and in so doing, make a significant contribution towards MME’s overarching vision of powering music success in Africa.
Over the next three years, perFORM Music Incubator, Phase III, will be delivered in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kisumu, and Turkana counties with the support of Sanara by Mastercard Foundation, implemented in partnership with the consortium of HEVA, SNDBX-Ubuntu, Baraza Media Lab, and GoDown Arts Centre.
