Call for registration: LOMO strategy webinar for artists
Global digital rights platform Songtrust is calling on all artists, entertainers and other content creators to register for a free webinar with entertainment lawyer and music business professor Karl Fowlkes on 24 February.
Fowlkes will present his LOMO strategy, which consists of four elements that the author believes every content creator needs to focus on before signing a contract.
The webinar will discuss the strategy and delving into:
- Types of publishing deals.
- What agreement length is best for artists.
- The delivery requirements or obligations that agreements include.
- All monetary considerations such as royalty rate, advance funds and repayment requirements.
- The type of ownership artists will maintain or give up in a deal.
- Top of Form.
Fowlkes boasts an impressive client portfolio with emerging stars. Under the umbrella of his own company, The Fowlkes Firm, his clients have made contributions to more than 30 Billboard charting albums. The entertainment lawyer has negotiated deals worth over $45m. He has also offered expertise on topics ranging from the complex business behind sampling music to dealing with viral hits and publications such as Variety, Rolling Stone, Complex and Bloomberg Law.
“As music creators, navigating the business of music can be tricky, especially when dealing with the worlds of rights management and contractual agreements,” Songtrust said.
The webinar will begin at 12am CAT.
