Call for registrations: Free Byta webinar with Obinna Agwu
Registrations are ongoing for the latest edition of music-sharing app Byta’s #HowWeListen Live: In Conversation online series slated for 25 April via Zoom.
This series, hosted by Byta founder Marc Brown, is designed to deliver knowledge to enable tomorrow’s artists and industry leaders to better manoeuvre their way through the music ecosystem.
This month’s programme comprises a workshop and an in-depth interview session with Horus Music Nigeria A&R executive Obinna Agwu. It will run under the theme, Signing, Developing & Releasing Music From Africa to the World.
Obinna is experienced in working closely with a variety of industry partners and managing internal/external relationships. He also hosts a music industry podcast known as The Listening Sessions Podcast.
Prior to joining Horus Music, Obinna worked at Boomplay as artist relations manager, executing over 20 major releases and securing top talents like ILLBliss, Laycon, Hotyce and Ugochee for Boomplay’s hip hop initiative, Pass The Mic. Obinna also oversaw planning and rollout for El Dee The Don’s Undeniable album while working at Trybe Records, and while at the Chocolate City record label, generally regarded as one of the most successful indigenous urban record labels in Africa, he oversaw albums like the Plantashun Boiz’s Plan B, The Bass is Queen by Lindsey Abudei, MI Abaga’s debut album Talk About It, and many other projects.
