Call for submissions: Research papers on arts and cultural management
The Arts & Cultural Management Conference (ACMC) is accepting research papers from students and emerging professionals in arts & cultural management-related fields from Europe and beyond ahead of the event at the University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain, in February 2022.
The annual platform provides participants with the unique opportunity to engage for three days, with emerging researchers, professionals, academics, artists and local collectives’ initiatives, in insightful conversations about the arts and cultural sector.
The ACMC 2022 will run under the theme, A Space for More Voices and New Ways. The submissions should address either of the following sub-topics:
- Ways to hear more voices: Visibility, diversity, inclusion and underrepresentation.
- Ways to address stringent current challenges: Accessibility, digitalisation and mental health.
- Ways to be adapted and integrated into the field: Sustainability and entrepreneurship.
The presentations may include but are not limited to the following:
- Panel session of three to five researchers and practitioners (45 minutes max).
- Interactive sessions such as workshops or seminars (45 minutes max).
- Artistic presentations or performances with moderation (30 minutes max).
- Online poster or short movie presentation (visual representation of research with a short write up that can be displayed in a virtual exhibition space).
- Presentations with Q&A sessions (15 to 45 min).
Who can apply?
ACMC will accept submissions from:
- Students, educators, researchers and academics.
- Artists.
- Emerging professionals and practitioners working in arts and culture.
- Organisations doing cross-sectorial work in arts and human rights, youth work and cultural leadership, among others.
- NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) with interest in the arts and culture field.
Requirements
Entrants should submit the following:
- Research abstract, summary, or event proposal with a few key references (300 words max).
- Please clearly indicate your presentation format and any relevant information on your plan to present or facilitate.
- Short biography with your background and interests (100 words max).
All the above documents should be submitted here. The submission deadline is 10 October.
Selection criteria
Presenters will be selected based on:
- The relevancy of their research to the conference theme.
- The originality and creativity of their proposals.
- The feasibility of their suggested presentation format.
