D’Banj named SLOT ambassador
Nigerian telephone retail company SLOT has named D’Banj as its brand ambassador. The company made the announcement public with an event at its Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos headquarters.
D’Banj’s unveiling as brand ambassador for the company means over the past few years, he has been affiliated with several brands including the luxury drink Ciroc earlier this year and the headphone company Beats by Dre last year. He has been signed on by Nigerian-owned telcom company Globacom and is the Bank of Industry’s ambassador as well. As part of the deal with SLOT, D’banj received a Porsche.
'This event is the celebration of partnership of two great brands,' said Nnamdi Ezeigbo MD SLOT at the formal announcement of the partnership on 23 September.
“SLOT and D’banj. SLOT, is a household name for top quality phones and accessories, Incorporated in 1998, from having just one outlet, when we started, we now have 50 top notch outlets scattered around the country, and as part of our vision to continue to be Nigeria’s number one phone seller, we have decided to partner with a true Nigerian and African music icon, Dbanj, to be our brand Ambassador.'
It is one more feather added to the cap of the artist who took home the 2015 MTV Africa Music Award Evolution Award, handed to 'established artistes who have made an indelible mark on African and global music culture.'
