Ghana: Black Sherif scores Infinix brand ambassador deal
Ghanaian hip hop artist Black Sherif has signed a brand ambassador deal with Chinese smartphone company Infinix Mobile.
The news was made public on Thursday when photos from a signing ceremony were published online.
Details of the deal have yet to be revealed, but the singer, now the face of the brand in Ghana, is expected to use his rising star power to boost company awareness through upcoming campaigns.
Founded in 2013 by Transsion Holdings, Infinix Mobile, based in Hong Kong, operates in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the United States.
A 2023 BET Hip Hop and Headies Award winner, Black Sherif joins a growing list of African popstars to have represented Infinix, such as fellow Ghanaian Shatta Wale and Nigeria’s Davido.
A year ago, Black Sherif scored a brand deal with payment app, Chipper Cash alongside Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and Simi. In September Black Sherif collaborated with Italian sports apparel company Ellesse, modelling the brand’s Santoria 2023 men’s collection. The singer also currently represents local ice cream brand Fan Yogo.
Black Sherif’s latest milestone coincides with the release of his new single titled ‘Oh No’, ahead of an impending new album.
The artist, behind the chart-topping 2022 debut The Villain I Never Was, has also been confirmed as a co-headliner for this year’s AfroFuture Festival with Davido and British-Gambian rapper J Hus. The event is expected to welcome more than 30 000 patrons.
