Ghana: ByteTunes appoints Ian Otchere as content acquisition manager
Ghanaian music investment company ByteTunes has announced creative consultant and strategist Ian ‘Priceless’ Otchere as content acquisition manager for the firm.
Established by a team of African and global partners, ByteTunes aims to enhance the continent’s music market through strategic capital investment and expertise support.
The company operates a fund that concentrates on capital investment, catalogue acquisition and the establishment of sustainable institutions.
A renowned professional in the Ghanaian creative arts and broadcasting industries, Otchere is expected to bring his vast experience to ByteTunes’s goal of connecting stakeholders and institutions in an “advanced ecosystem strong enough to compete on the global stage and dynamic enough to introduce Ghanaian culture and music to newer markets previously untapped by the African continent.”
“Working with artists all these years, I’m well aware of the challenges they face due to limited access to funds, especially in Ghana and across Africa,” Otchere told Music In Africa. “We often hear of the lack of investment which negatively affects the output of artists. I’m excited to be part of the mergers and acquisition team at ByteTunes Music Entertainment and I look forward to engaging artists as they navigate these challenges, in the pursuit of successful careers.”
Otchere is a music educator and founder of Priceless Music Consultancy which assists artists and their management teams by providing educational, advisory and strategic services to them, as well as consulting for all other music industry stakeholders.
He also recently joined Forbes’ community of Black professionals, leaders and creators, ForbesBLK.
“ForbesBLK also curates networking opportunities to foster professional development, entrepreneurship and cultural change,” he said. “Since joining, I’ve had the privilege of learning about all the beautiful things people in the community have been up to. I’m thankful for the opportunity to grow while contributing to the community.”
