Ghana: OliveTheBoy shares GoodSin remix
Ghanaian singer OliveTheBoy today shared the remix of his breakout single ‘GoodSin’, which is available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
The new record, whose original version was released earlier this year as part of its author’s Avana EP, features fellow Ghanaian act King Promise and Nigeria’s Oxlade and Reekado Banks.
The reimagined version, produced by Beats Vampire, is also OliveTheBoy’s first release since scoring a record deal with Sony Music’s Columbia Records through subsidiary Bu Vision in August. It is expected to herald a deluxe edition of Avana in January.
Thematically, the track is an invitation to love and lust. A representative of the artist told Music In Africa that the artist considers this collaboration a “turning point” in his career, which has already earned him a place in Apple Music’s Up Next artist development programme, following the recent viral success of ‘GoodSin’.
OliveTheBoy is widely regarded as the biggest Ghanaian breakthrough act of 2023, while ‘Goodsin’ was listed by Audiomack among the 50 best songs of the year.
Born Joel Ofori Bonsu, the singer’s craft is characterised by a fusion of multiple influences, most notably Afropop and R&B.
