
Ghana: Traygan wins inaugural Cues and Lyrics reality show
Upcoming singer Traygan was named the overall winner of Ghanaian music contest Cues and Lyrics at the weekend in Accra.

The brainchild of JoyPrime, the weekly reality show in its inaugural year, aims to create a platform for up-and-coming artists to launch their careers. It adds to a growing list of programmes geared at unearthing the musical talents of young Ghanaians. Other shows with similar goals include Mentor and Voice Factory.
Born Tracy Hagan, Traygan who is also an actress and model, and emerged victorious among five finalists on the night, marking the end of 12 weeks of competition.
She won a prize package that includes GH₵20 000 (about $1 700) in cash, an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai, a recording deal, GH₵30 000 worth of airtime and various other products.
“I cannot thank you enough for your support throughout this journey,” Traygan said following her win. She also lauded organisers for the initiative, as well as her vocal coach for their guidance and faith in her talent.
Other emerging musicians who made it to the Top 5 are TM Musiq, who secured the first runner-up position and received a prize of GH₵10 000. Limuel claimed the second runner-up position and was awarded GH₵5 000. Kwabena Mophasa took the third runner-up position, earning GH₵3 000, whereas Lovet finished in the fourth position, receiving GH₵2 000.
Veteran producer Kaywa along with broadcasters Andy Dosty and Doreen Andoh served as judges.
