Ghana’s Black Sherif featured on Apple Music’s Rap Life Africa
Apple Music has announced Black Sherif as the latest Rap Life Africa artist.
This is the second time the Ghanaian musician has been featured by the streaming platform, after making his debut in April last year.
Rap Life Africa operates with the vision of spotlighting African hip hop acts while promoting the culture on the continent. It also serves as a companion to Apple Music’s flagship hip hop playlist Rap Life.
“The Rap Life brand, playlist and radio show is something we hope artists and fans of hip hop all over the world can connect through,” Apple Music’s global editorial head of hip hop and R&B, Ebro Ebro Darden, said.
Black Sherif’s feature follows the successful release of his debut album The Villain I Never Was, which finds the artist attempting to make sense of a hard life. A notable track form the collection is ‘Soja’, which has been added to the Rap Life playlist.
Black Sherif also ended 2022 as Ghana’s most successful artist, according to digital service providers Spotify and Boomplay. Last month, he made Rolling Stone’s list of the Top 40 Best Afropop Songs of 2022.
Apart from Black Sherif, Rap Life Radio will feature new tracks from South African rapper AKA and Nigerian newcomer Odumodublvck with his new track ‘Picanto’.
