Kenya: Kipepeo Agency to hold World Music Day show
East African artist management and bookings company Kipepeo Agency has announced that it will hold its first World Music Day show at The Alchemist Bar in Nairobi, Kenya, on 21 June.
Dubbed Fluttering Harmonies: Kipepeo Presents World Music Day – A Journey through East African Rhythms, the live music show will form part of the agency’s celebration of the global event – also known as Fête de la Musique – marked annually on 21 June.
Kipepeo Agency founder Maija Rivenburg said the objective of the event is to showcase the diversity and richness of the artists on the Kipepeo Agency roster.
“It is a journey through the different rhythms and sounds that make up our musical landscape, and an opportunity to celebrate and connect with the artists of Kipepeo Agency,” Rivenburg said.
“The goal of the event is to foster cultural exchange and appreciation through music, providing a platform for artists to share their talents and stories with a diverse audience.
“It is about gathering for the love of good music and we hope the audience will get a deeper understanding of our A&R selection and consider booking our artists for their events and other work opportunities.”
The artist line-up is composed of some of Kipepeo's top acts like Bakhita, Eli Maliki, Groovy Jo, Liboi and Udulele, whose performances will be topped up by surprise guest appearances. For live music lovers, the night will see them immerse themselves in the healing tunes of Bakhita, the soulfulness of Liboi, the charisma of Udulele, Groovy Jo’s energy and Eli Maliki’s radiance.
“The event aims to foster cultural exchange and appreciation through music, providing a platform for artists to share their talents and stories with a diverse audience. It will be a culmination of the love we share for music and diversity under the Nairobi stars,” Rivenburg added.
