Kenyan travel agency appoints Guardian Angel as brand ambassador
Kenyan travel agency Crowned Eagle Safaris has named gospel singer Guardian Angel as its brand ambassador.
The company made the announcement during an event at Krishna Centre in Nairobi on 4 March.
Speaking to Music In Africa, Crowned Eagle Safaris general manager David Iteyo said the singer would promote the company's travel packages for a year.
“We settled for Guardian Angel because he is a well-known artist in the gospel music scene and his track record aligns well with our brand,” he said. “We have customised packages to reach his audience, with the current one being Following the Footsteps of Jesus, an eight-night tour of Egypt and the Holy Land.”
The new arrangement will see Guardian Angel become the face of Crowned Eagle Safaris for various ad campaigns aimed at promoting the company. As ambassador, the singer is expected to consistently mention the agency’s tourist destination packages on all of his social media pages. He will also take part in the company’s corporate social responsibility programmes.
Guardian Angel said he expected the ambassadorship to increase his popularity in Kenya. He also urged musicians to brand themselves to attract more opportunities.
“Build a cohesive and attractive brand that brings out what you represent and what you are selling," he said. "Being a potential brand ambassador depends on your target audience and social media presence. Structure your music as a business so that you are reachable. Also, have good management that will pitch, sell and represent you.”
This appointment is not the singer’s first. In 2017, he was a local ambassadors of ridesharing service Taxify.
