Kwabena Kwabena to perform at Music of Ghanaian Origin event

Initially billed to be a single day event when it began in 2007, MOGO has become a yearly festival with performances from a host of artists performing in the greater tradition of Ghanaian music.

This year, artists Kwabena Kwabena and Okyeame Kwame will be thrilling attendees.

As the event focuses on Ghanaian highlife, some of the genre’s key artists will also be performing at the event. These include Nana Ampadu, Paapa Yankson and AB Crentsil.

“The three legends, who have been instrumental in the highlife story with about four decades of experience, promise to serve hit after hit and to bring back those fond memories of yesteryears, as they inspire the current creative generation to aspire to do more,” organiser Citi 97.3 FM said in a press statement. 

It said Kwabena Kwabena and Okyeame Kwame had been invited to the event because of their continuous work in the Ghanaian music tradition. They “have over the past decade delivered some of the best songs in Ghana and have kept highlife and its derivative music forms alight”.

MOGO also has an awards ceremony attached to its schedule of yearly activities. Last year saw Bisa Kdei emerge as the big winner.
