Music app developer Gismart launches artist programme
Music apps and mobile games developer Gismart has launched a partnership programme called Games for Artists, which will create new promotional and revenue opportunities for users through hyper-casual games.
Gismart has developed music apps such as Beat Maker Go, Piano Crush and WeDrum, among others.
Using the games, the company will offer musicians an alternative platform for connecting with a big audience to promote their brand, music, merchandise and any other associated businesses.
Promotional opportunities include lookalike in-game characters, in-game content, and music and merchandise integrations, among others. In addition to customised promotional opportunities, artists will receive a profit share of the game.
“The hyper-casual gaming market is one of the hottest spaces in the mobile market today,” Gismart vice-president of business development and marketing Lana Meisak said. "With monthly downloads reaching 1 billion and most of them coming from brand new games, hyper-casual games are the new medium to reach out to a massive audience instantly and to offer strong marketing opportunities for entertainment brands, including music artists.”
Gismart says when musicians join the Games for Artists programme, they will be integrated into the game based on what works best for their needs and the game experience. Gismart will be responsible for game marketing and monetisation, including a multi-million-dollar budget that will be used for game advertising, guaranteeing a large audience.
According to Newzoo analytics, about half of hyper-casual game players are over 31 years old, of which 46% are women. The games are also free-to-play and are the most popular monetisation model for hyper-casual in-game advertisements. On average, one player watches from five to 10 video ads per game session, which could be used to promote a partner artist’s new music releases, gigs or merchandise.
Half of Gismart’s product portfolio is music-based apps and games. The company has already partnered with the world's biggest music publishers, including Universal Music Publishing Group and Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The developer has previously collaborated with US duo The Chainsmokers, and other emerging artists.
