Nigeria: Fireboy DML to represent smartphone brand

He joins other African popstars including Ghana’s Stonebwoy and Kenya’s Otile Brown who have secured deals to represent the brand. 

Fireboy DML will represent the company’s Spark phone model, including its new Spark 9 series, a mid-range smartphone targeting young people. 

“Welcome the one and only Fireboy DML to the Spark family,” Tecno Mobile confirmed on social media on Wednesday. The ‘Peru’ hitmaker said he was proud and excited to join the brand and emplored his fans to “support my new family!”

According to Tecno, the deal will allow the Spark series to expand its customer base while “gaining ground on brand globalisation.”

The arrangement aims to offer users contemporary tech with artistic designs, in line with Tecno’s vision to “demonstrate its mastery of serving the young at heart through innovation, technological, and artistic advancement in emerging markets around the world.”

The deal follows the company’s recent launch of finance app Tecno Wallet. The app, made possible through strategic partnerships with third-party financial institutions, is built for its devices and integrated into the Camon 19 series.

Two weeks ago, Fireboy DML released the video for ‘Playboy’, the title track from his forthcoming album.
