
Open call: Art Explora residency programme in France
Artists, researchers and curators are invited to submit applications for the Art Explora residency programme in France.

The residency is open to individual artists and collectives of all nationalities with at least five years of professional experience who have presented their work and research on an international scale.
Application process:
- Applicants should begin by registering an account here for free.
- Start their application (automatic save in-progress).
- Submit your application for evaluation.
Candidates can apply to two types of residency programme:
- Solo programme: Open to artists only, for a residency of three or six months, during two sessions: March to August 2024/September 2024 to February 2025.
- Collective programme: Open to a collective or duo of artists, researchers and curators, for a three-month residency during four sessions: March to May 2024/June to August 2024/September to November 2024/December 2024 to February 2025.
For applicants who are interested in the collective residency programme, only one application should be submitted by a member of the collective. To submit an application in French, applicants can change the language by clicking on their profile.
Application deadline is 7 November at 11.59pm (Paris time). Applications cannot be modified once they have been submitted.
Application documents
Interested artists and researchers must submit an application in English or French (no other language is accepted) that includes:
- A description of the artistic project or research that will be developed during the residency (general description, steps of the project): 3 500 characters max. (not including spaces), that can be accompanied by visuals.
- A cover letter explaining why the applicants need to be based in France to develop their project (conceptual, geographical, practical and social link): two pages max.
- A portfolio of past projects relevant to the project that is proposed: 20 pages max.
- A detailed resume or biography: five pages max.
- A description summarising the activities and workshops carried out with different types of publics (associations and schools): 1 500 characters max. (including spaces).
