Call for SA applications: Artist residency in Paris
Institut Français, in collaboration with the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), is calling on artists to apply for a residency programme at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France, in 2020.
The residency is intended for artists living and working in South Africa, who wish to develop a research and creation project for a period of three or six months.
Artistic fields
The programme is intended for projects in the following fields: classic and contemporary music, music for film, architecture/landscaping/urban planning, visual arts, street arts/puppets, digital arts, comic arts, cinema/animated cinema/creation documentary, exhibition curatorship, design, graphic arts, literature/children's literature, art trades, photography, virtual reality and video games.

Residency programme
The period of the residency will be three or six months. Residency periods must comply with the French Institute's preferred 2020 calendar, which is available in the application form (no mid-month arrivals or departures).
The programme will provide:
- Return flight.
- A studio with accommodation at Cité Internationale des Arts.
The resident will need to provide or find extra funding for:
- Insurance for hospitalisation, medical expenses, repatriation and civil liability.
- A €500 security deposit to be returned at the end of the stay providing that the studio apartment has been left in good condition.
- A production budget.
