Open call: CIIFA recording bootcamp
Registrations are ongoing for the Creative Industries Initiative for Africa (CIIFA) recording bootcamp from 31 May to 2 June.
Founded by Sony Music Publishing Nigeria managing director Godwin Tom, CIIFA supports the creative industries by providing training and access to international resources for Africans. The institute also leads initiatives such as Engage Nigeria and the Music Business Academy for Africa programme, which is dedicated to developing the next generation of music entrepreneurs on the continent.
The recording workshop is in partnership with Afrobeats label Mavin Records, home to popstars like Rema and Ayra Starr. It is the latest event in CIIFA’s 2024 Bootcamp Series, which began on 3 May. This series has already offered five specialised camps targeting various sectors of the creative industry. The previous sessions focused on publishing, the live music industry, the interactive industry, and support services.
Who can apply?
The bootcamp is open to aspiring and established professionals in the creative industries, including musicians, producers, managers and other stakeholders across Africa.
Interested participants can register for free here.
NOTE: Attendance at the CIIFA bootcamps is essential to qualify for any scholarship or funding for the Music Business Academy for Africa 2024-25 programme. Last year, the programme struck strategic partnerships in Senegal, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania. Classes will be conducted in English, French and Swahili.
