SA artist joins Todd Dulaney for London gospel show
South African singer Lebohang Kgapola will share the stage with US gospel musician Todd Dulaney at the Dominion Centre in London, UK, on 29 September.
Dubbed Worshippers Heart with Todd Dulaney, the event will be Kgapola’s second overseas performance after the Midem conference in France this year. Kgapola, who last year said she wants to redefine the South African gospel music industry, will reunite with Dulaney for the second time following their South African tour in April. The pair also teamed up and recorded ‘Victory Belongs to Jesus’ song that will be released on 26 October.
“It’s been a long and laborious journey until this week when we finally got everything in place and the team ready to fly to the UK for the performance,” Lebohang Kgapola’s management said. “Throughout this time, we remained in constant touch with our partners in the UK to ensure that everything proceeded smoothly.
“This forms part of our goal and vision, which is to take South African music global. South Africa has vast amount of music talent, which if nurtured properly and given the right exposure platform, can successfully compete with the rest of the world.”
Orgnaised by Inspired Lane HQ Promotions, the event will be Dulaney's debut performance in the UK.
“Listen London, this Saturday it is on. Bring your cousins, grandmothers and uncles. Everyone is being set ablaze for Christ this Saturday in London,” Dulaney wrote on Twitter.
Speaking of the event, Lane HQ Promotions director Brian Zimba said: “We’re excited to be hosting Todd Dulaney for the very first time in the UK. His ministry has been such a blessing to us and thousands of others this side of the pond. We are looking forward to an unforgettable night of worship with Todd and his awesome team.”
After her London gig, Kgapola has a number of performances lined up in South Africa. She will perform at the Gospel Goes Classical show in Carnival City on 27 October. The event will feature such artists as Vashawn Mitchell, Joe Mettle and Ntokozo Mbambo. This will be followed by her homecoming concert in Witbank on 3 November.
On 30 November, Kgapola will host her debut Pretoria concert at Bethesda Christian Centre. She will also feature on SABC 2’s Afro Café as a tribute to the late Winnie Mandela.
Tickets to the London event are available on Eventbrite.
