SA: DJ Lag announces Alpha‑Zulu world tour dates
South African gqom producer DJ Lag has announced the dates for his 2023 world tour that will take him to Europe, North America, Asia and Africa
The Alpha-Zulu (A-Z) tour, which is already underway in India, will see the hitmaker collaborate and record with local artists in places that he will visit during the tour.
“Alpha-Zulu (A-Z) represents something that goes from start to finish and this tour is about performing, collaborating and recording on every continent,” DJ Lag said. “I want to blend genres and create new sounds along the way.”
The Alpha-Zulu tour follows an incredible 2022 that saw DJ Lag ascend to the top of the global electronic music scene with the release of his debut album, Meeting With The King. The project was featured in the Resident Advisor’s Best Albums of 2022 list and ‘Raptor’, a collaboration with Sinjin Hawke, was named one of Clash magazine’s summer 2022 essential 10 tracks.
“It is going to be about exploring and experimenting on stages and studios from Mumbai to Miami to Accra and many more in-between. There is a lot I am looking forward to on this tour, including outside the music! Like finding the best barber in the world,” he said
