SA: Orgasmic Music Gallery to host Blues, Rock and Roots online gig
Orgasmic Music Gallery (OMG) will host a carefully selected line-up of musicians at the Daisy Jones Bar at OMG in Stellenbosch, South Africa, on 26 November. The concert will be streamed on Facebook at 7pm CAT. Tickets for a small audience will be available at the door.
The OMG concert – titled Blues, Rock and Roots – will feature an eclectic line-up of acclaimed musicians including Albert Frost Trio & Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Urban Village, The Black Cat Bones and Congo Cowboys.
The production is made possible through a partnership with the Music In Africa Foundation and its Music In Africa Live (MIAL) project, which aims to support musicians and the industry at large to navigate the challenges and new realities introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Covering all African countries, the aim of MIAL is to offer financial support to operators, to enable them to create high-quality works and promote, market and showcase their content to a wider global audience, primarily via digital means.
“The past year has been a rough ride for South African musicians and performers who lost their main source of income when local lockdown measures effectively shut down the local event industry,” OMG said. “Fortunately, a collaboration between Music In Africa Live and Orgasmic Music Gallery now seeks to provide some relief."

About Music In Africa Live
Thousands of African musicians have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has occasioned unprecedented lockdowns and restrictions across the continent. African musicians and professionals traditionally make a living from live performances, and now they find themselves in extreme difficulty.
The Music In Africa Live project is one of a number of new projects that the Music In Africa Foundation is introducing this year to support music professionals in Africa.
The project is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, Siemens Stiftung and Goethe-Institut.
