SA: Zakes Bantwini reveals Abantu Festival line-up

“We have an incredible local and international line-up that I believe will bring a unique flavour to a local concert that’s unlike any we’ve seen before,” Zakes Bantwini said. “This is just the beginning and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store for this historic show.”

Explaining the thinking behind the event, the Grammy-winning artist said: “When we first came up with the idea for Abantu, it was to do something special for the people. It took us some time to get it right, but I think we finally have a well-rounded event property that everyone can look forward to.”

To generate excitement and support for the upcoming concert, Zakes Bantwini held activations at the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University recently. These allowed him to connect with his fans and give them a taste of what to expect at the Abantu Fest. More of these activations are expected at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Rhodes University.
