Samini inks ambassadorial deal with FBNBank
Ghanaian reggae-dancehall singer Samini has signed an ambassadorial deal with FBNBank Ghana, a subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria. The musician will front the company’s quick banking product campaign. News of the partnership was disclosed in a statement on the bank’s website on 3 August.
FBNBank Ghana managing director Victor Yaw Asante expressed how delighted his outfit is to work with the artist. He said he was optimistic that Samini would bring significant value to the bank’s growing brand.
On his part, Samini applauded the bank’s history and stressed how excited he is to be associated with the brand.
“FBNBank Ghana has a rich heritage of being a constant financial partner throughout its customers’ lives and I am thrilled to work in partnership with the bank,” he said.
A decorated performer whose laurels include multiple Ghana Music Award trophies and a MOBO plaque, Samini joins other top Ghanaian artists Sarkodie and M.anifest who have inked ambassadorial partnerships with financial institutions: Sarkodie with Standard Chartered Bank and M.anifest with Absa Bank Ghana. With these deals, the artists continue to make a case for fruitful relationships between the creative industry and financial sector in the country.
Samini is no stranger to corporate Ghana. His other notable brand association was with telecom giant MTN in an eight-year marriage that ended in 2015.
The 38-year-old musician's professional music journey has seen him release seven LPs and multiple hit singles alongside big-name collaborators. His latest album Untamed went to No 8 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. It was also named the Reggaeville Album of the Year in 2019 – the first African album to secure that accolade. His business ventures include High Grade Family and High Grade Farms.
