South Africa: applications & registration for National Arts Festival extended
One of South Africa’s biggest annual celebrations of the arts, National Arts Festival, has extended its deadline to 20 January for artists to submit their application forms and pay the registration fee.
The initial deadline was today 16 January, but the festival management has given artists a period of grace from now till Friday 20 January before they close their doors. According to Fringe Manager Zikhona Monareng, the management is unlikely to be extend the dates again and artists are urged to apply or risk missing out.
This year’s festival will run from 29 June – 9 July 2017 in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape where performing and visual artists will display amazing performances.
The Festival consists of Main and Fringe programmes, both administered by the National Arts Festival Office. It forms part of the broader National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.The programme comprises drama, dance, physical theatre, comedy, opera, music, jazz, visual art exhibitions, film, student theatre, street theatre, lectures, craft fair, workshops, tours (of the city and surrounding historic places) and a children's arts festival.
The Fringe is not curated and entries are not subject to a selection process. Productions need only submit their applications and pay a registration fee to take part.
