St Singhateh to release new album 'Watotijay'
Gambian artist St Singhateh (also called ST Gambian Dream) will launch a new album entitled Watotijah (meaning, "no time") on 10 December at Penchamii Hall.
The 12-track album is produced by different studios within the Gambia and Senegal.
St Singhateh, whose real name is Sanna Singhateh, released his first album, Distinction in 2013, and won the Wah Sa Halat Music Awards Male Artist of the Year early this year.
According to ST’s media director, Modou Lamin Jammeh, alias Sultan, the album is set and preparations are going on a right direction. “We want to inform the general public that we working towards the target, and this is a target we are working relentlessly to ensure we achieve,” he said.
Dembo Jobarteh, St Singhateh's manager, said, the “'Watotijay' album launching...is going to be a successful album launching.”
According to him the artist's management is working tirelessly to attract a national crowd to the event. “There is a need for us to make this one a big event," he said, "and we are working with almost all of the promotional groups in the Gambia to make sure we have a successful event.”
The artist himself said Watotijay is going to be a great album. “[The album] talks about the burning issues in our daily lives," he said. "It is mixed by professionals and all of the songs are amazing."
