Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, others win Ghana Music Honours
The Musician Union of Ghana has announced winners of the 2017 Ghana Music Honours.
- Sarkodie was named Best Male Artist at the 2017 Ghana Music Honours
The event took place on 4 March and had performances from Cina Soul, Adina and others. At the end of the event, a number of popular Ghana stars including Sarkodie and Bisa Kdei emerged as winners.
In the DJ category, DJ Vyrusky won the Best DJK Honour over the much celebrated DJ Black. The rising rapper Medikal, who was featured on Mr Eazi's Lagos to Accra EP, was named Ghana Music Honours' Most Promising Act.
Now in its sixth year, the Ghana Music Honours was instituted to “cultivate the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of recorded music to the Ghanaian society; from the artistic and technical legends of the past to the musical breakthroughs of future generations of music professionals.”

- Honorary Award For Music Industry Development - Multimedia Group Limited
- Music Promoter Award - Bola Ray
- President's Choice Honour - Mr. Michael Ajovu, CEO of Midlands Savings and Loans
- Gospel Artiste Honour - Joe Mettle
- Afro Pop Artiste Honour - Joey B
- Dancehall Artiste Honour - Stonebwoy
- Highlife Artiste Honour - Bisa Kdei
- Hiplife Artiste Honour - Kofi Kinaata
- Most Promising Act Honour - Medikal
- Evergreen Highlife Honour - CK Mann
- Best Group Honour - VVIP
