Vic Falls Carnival confirms diverse line-up
The organisers of the Victoria Falls Carnival have unveiled an exciting and diverse list of artists who will perform at the event in Zimbabwe from 29 to 31 December. Now in its ninth edition, the much-anticipated concert will feature musicians from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia and the DRC.
Top South African DJ Black Coffee, who makes his maiden appearance at the festival, will headline the event.
Other acts billed for the three-day fiesta include SA electronic duo The Kiffness, Zimbabwean artists Flying Bantu and DJ Jason Le Roux. They will be joined by Mampi from Zambia and South Africa-based Congolese artist Tresor.
“We are so excited to announce that for the first time ever Africa's biggest artist, Black Coffee, will be taking to the decks at the Vic Falls Carnival 2017,” the organisers said on Facebook. “Joining him on this piping hot line-up is The Kiffness with their infectious hair-whipping electronic jazz, ‘Never Let Me Go’ hitmaker from the heart of the Congo Tresor, Zambian Mampi, Neverland founder and master of mixing Jason Le Roux and local Vic Falls Afro-fusion act Flying Bantu and many more still to come.”
Tresor, who released his debut album VII featuring AKA, Beatenberg, Khuli Chana and The Soil in September last year, is expected to perform on the last day of the festival. Joining him on that same day are The Kiffness, R&B artist Mampi and local Flying Bantu. Black Coffee will play his set on the second day while Jason Le Roux will kick off proceedings a day earlier.
Victoria Falls Carnival spokesperson Emmanuel Tivatyi said tickets are now on sale. "A three-day festival ticket is being sold for $90, two-day ticket for $65 and a one-day ticket for the New Year's concert is going for $50," he said.
