DJ Black

Bio

Born in Ghana and raised in Nigeria, DJ Black (Kwadwo Ampofo) is one of Ghana’s leading DJs. In addition to DJing, he is a copywriter and voiceover artist, describing himself as “Africa’s best radio and show host DJ.” He hosts the Open House party on Joy 99.7FM Accra.

He has won a number of awards including, 2013 Ghana's Best DJ, 2013 Best Male radio DJ, Best scratch DJ -Ghana DJ Awards 2013, 2011 Best Radio DJ -RTP Awards; Rothmans 2001 West African DJ Champion; 2009 Red carpet awards independent artist and DJ award winner.

He was ranked number 2 in the MNET 2010 Top African Radio DJ rankings. He has also been named RTV Radio DJ of the year in 2011. In 2016, he received five nominations at the Ghana DJ Awards, the highest of any single nominee.
