Brikama Boyo
Bio
Brikama Boyo (or ST Da Gambian Dream) was born Sanna Singhateh. ST is the initials of his late grandfather whom he was named after. He was introduced to rap music as a child, listening to BIG and Tupac and Nas.
He recorded his first lyrics during his junior years in secondary school. He developed his writing lyrics by writing for friends instead of rapping himself.
In January of 2010, ST dropped his first local mixtape '’GA On Fire" alongside P-MACK & BENJAMEN. By May 2010, two follow up singles ‘Dara Du Doi’ and ‘Adiata Nteleye’ gave him greater attention from the public as an Afromanding rap star.
A few videos followed. He had a breakthrough when the video for his song ‘Njunku’ was released. He received an award for the video by an online Gambian music page, GMP Music Awards, as the most popular video on their page.
March 2013 saw ST’s debut album ‘Distinction’ features other renowned Gambian artists like Benjamin, Manding Morry, Neneh Suso and Sambu Da Unstopabble.
