Otim Alpha

Otim Alpha is a legend of Gulu. One of the pioneers of the Acholitronix movement, a fast digital interpretation of Acholi folk music. ‘Acholi folk pop’, is rural village folk music, but re-interpreted by means of computers, digital instruments and music software. The fast, looped rhythms, cyclical melodies and choral singing are mostly in 6/8 time (fast waltz) but the strong accents give it, a straight-up punk, polka or techno feel.
