Call for registration: Songwriting masterclass for East Africans
Established and upcoming songwriters from East Africa can register for the Cookout Africa masterclass by Grammy-nominated American singer-songwriter, composer and record producer Vincent Le Carl Berry II.
The masterclass is a live collaborative songwriting experience, to engage participants in creative writing, group function, reflection, peer learning, peer interaction and practice. It seeks to promote team building and collaboration to enable Africa’s creative industry of the future to continue producing fresh, conscious and emotionally available content, in a sustainable and cutting-edge manner.
Participants will benefit from the unique interactive and educational experience, which will see a song written in real time under the guidance of Vincent Berry II.
The masterclass will take place on 30 July at 7pm (EAT). There are only 50 slots available, and interested songwriters can register here.
The Cookout Africa is organised by Afreximbank in collaboration with the AU, as part of the second edition of the biennial Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF).
The event was set to take place from 1 to 7 September 2020 in Kigali, Rwanda, but was postponed to next year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
