Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Day 2: All the winners

The musician beat Sarkodie, Diana Hamilton, Medikal and Kofi Kinaata to annex the title to his name, which was previously held by the late dancehall singer Ebony Reigns. Kuami Eugene also bagged the award for Highlife Artist of the Year – his third in a row. 

“Thank you so much to every Ghanaian out there for supporting the Kuami Eugene project,” the 23-year-old singer, born Eugene Kwame Marfo, said. He also thanked his record label and mum for their support.

Kuami Eugene is best known for singles like 'Wish Me Well' and 'Confusion', and 2019's Rockstar album. His second album Son of Africa is due on 9 October. 

The night was presented by broadcasters Kofi Okyere Darko and Berla Mundi, with performances from Medikal, Akwaboah, Efya, King Promise, Celestine Donkor, Kofi Kinaata and KiDi. 

On the night, Diana Hamilton picked up the Gospel Artist of the Year Award, while Kofi Kinaata won the Hiplife Song and Most Popular Song of the Year awards in addition to the Songwriter of the Year trophy he won on the previous night. 

Sarkodie took home the Best Collaboration of the Year Award for ‘Oofeetso’, his 2019 hit with singer Prince Bright. 

Other award recipients on Day 2 included Medikal for Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Ras Kuuku for Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year.
