Call for applications: Grants for media art in Germany
The Edith Russ House art gallery in Oldenburg, Germany, is accepting applications for its Foundation of Lower Saxony scholarship grant.
The cultural institution awards three grants worth €12 500 ($15 250) each to support the production of a new project in the field of media art.
The scholarships will run for six months between July and December 2021. Scholarship holders are expected to stay in Oldenburg for at least one month and be involved in workshops, presentations or artist talks.
Eligibility
Interested applicants can propose projects in a wide range of media art such as:
- Sound or audiovisual installations.
- Video art and network-based projects.
The application deadline is 10 February 2021.
Requirements
The project description must be in the PDF format and named according to the following scheme: NAME _PROJEKTTITEL. It should contain the following information:
- A detailed project description (depending on the project, including installation plan, storyboard, navigation plan, etc.).
- The technical means and materials.
- The work and production schedule.
- The cost plan. For projects that require additional financial means and the scholarship money, please submit a financing plan. If unsecured third-party funding is needed, it must be demonstrated how the applicant can implement the project without the funding.
- The documentation of previous artistic work (the files must be uploaded online and should not be larger than 10 MB).
Note:
- An international jury of experts will select the scholarship holders.
- Only materials submitted via the online application form will be considered.
- The application can be made in English or German (if the application is made in German, the central information must be translated into English, as the jury is international).
- Successful applicants will be notified via email.
